Local Activities

Over the summer the various meet-ups and activities tend to cease, pending the ‘academic year’ restarting in September.  Please bear in mind that some of the information below is subject to change.

Local home educators meet up in various locations around Doncaster (and beyond) and various activities are organised. We are a group with a mix of ages, backgrounds and stories to tell. Whether you already home educate or are still considering it, feel free to contact us (all comments are moderated and therefore any contact details you give us will not appear publicly on this page).





  • Spanish Language Classes:  Sprotbrough Library.  Under 5s class: £2 plus £1 per sibling / Over 5s class: £4.50 per child – weekly
  • Social Meet: Auckley – all ages: table tennis, games, outside space – weekly


  • Trampolining at Airkings – weekly
  • Home Education Connection at Potteric Carr: £5.00 / non-member children/£3.00 member children.  Adults: free.  Monthly.

Ad Hoc Meetings & Trips

Other activities are also organised, for example, a few people regularly meet up at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park and often there are ad hoc meetings at Sandall Park, Sandall Beat Woods, etc.

Various trips and workshops are also organised, for example there is an organised visit to Roche Abbey coming up in July.  Other trips have included Conisbrough Castle, The Deep in Hull, Bolsover Castle and more!

Home Education Art Group Exhibition



Exploring natural forms in various media (included ceramics, textiles and mixed media), this exhibition is currently at The Point, Doncaster, where various arts-based classes are offered to home educators.

Activities to start from September

The recent newsletter from DMBC is listing a few actitivies that, if you would like your children to take part, will need to be booked.

Another series of Visual Arts workshops are being offered for 11+ years and will be free.  These will run on a Monday as before and places are on a first come, first served basis.  Please contact Helen Jones at The Point asap on 01302 341662.

DMBC EHE department are also looking at setting up Cycling Proficiency Sessions for Home Educators in Doncaster for children aged 10+.  If you would be interested, please contact the department on 01302 736504 or email them at EHE@doncaster.gov.uk
